In times of grief, sometimes what we need most is someone who simply listens. At Families Fighting for Justice, we believe in the quiet strength found in shared understanding. Our Peer Support Wednesdays, started this month, are built around this principle—the healing power of listening and being heard.
Peer support is not about giving advice or having all the answers. It’s about offering a space where people can express their thoughts and emotions freely, without judgement. A place where someone who has been through something similar sits beside you and says, “I understand.”
We’ve seen how this simple act—truly listening—can begin to ease the weight of loss. It’s in these moments that connections form, healing begins, and hope quietly returns.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this type of support, we welcome you to join us. Together, through the art of listening, we can find strength in each other.
