Those students who are interested in child care working with children, this could be you want to work in a nursery, school or be a social worker OLLY (Our Lost Love Years) is a good place for a placement. All of our OLLY students have to agree to be Enhanced DBS checked. Hopefully to be available to go out on sessions with the children on our mini bus which sometimes more than often is a Saturday or Sunday. During school holidays we do have mid-week sessions. The days out are spread out, it can be visiting our caravan in North Wales, visiting farms, swimming, visits to the beach, ice skating, go-karting, sports days and lots of other activities.
Obviously in any role of social care or child care there is always paperwork. It would be of great help if you are computer literate as there are days when you would be working in the office scanning documents, saving to data files, printing, filing up in box binders. Also thinking of ideas for the children.
Placement for our students starts at 10am until Possibly 3pm, we fully understand for the years we have been working with students on placement that we will work around their studying.
You can bring if you wish a packed lunch and drink as we have a fridge in the office, kettle and toaster that you can gladly use whenever you wish.
There is no dress code you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
