It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of June Hopley — a remarkable woman who stood shoulder to shoulder with Jean Taylor and Families Fighting for Justice in our ongoing Campaign for Justice.
June and her husband Alan knew the devastating pain of loss all too well, having lost their beloved daughter Susan Dugdale, who was the mother of Ryan. Despite the unimaginable heartache they carried, June turned her grief into strength, becoming a voice for other families affected by homicide and a steadfast supporter of our work.
Her presence at our meetings, her compassion for other families, and her unwavering belief in the need for justice made her a deeply valued part of our community. June’s dignity, courage, and warmth touched the lives of many, and her legacy will live on through the lives she helped to uplift.
Our heartfelt condolences go to Alan and all of June’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts, and that June will always be remembered with deep affection and respect.
Rest in peace, June. You will never be forgotten.
