It only takes one moment — a single act of violence, a senseless decision, a tragic mistake — to change lives forever. For families affected by homicide, that moment marks a before and after. Life as it once was is shattered, and what follows is a lifetime of questions, pain, and trying to make sense of the unimaginable.
At Families Fighting for Justice, we understand the deep scars left behind when a loved one is taken too soon. Founded by those who have lived through the very grief we support others through, our mission has always been to stand beside victims’ families — to ensure their voices are heard, their needs are met, and that they never feel alone.
One moment in time might have taken everything, but we are here for every moment after — with support, with understanding, and with a promise that no family should suffer in silence.
Through our two dedicated services, we aim to cover every aspect of support:
- Our Lost Love Years – A space for remembrance, where we honour those lives taken and offer a place to share memories, grief, and love. Because love doesn’t end when life does.
- The Homicide Support Hub – Practical and emotional support tailored to each family’s journey, helping them navigate the difficult path ahead with care and compassion.
Every Wednesday, our Peer Support sessions offer a chance to talk, to listen, and to find strength in shared experience. We do this because we know the pain, we’ve felt the silence, and we’ve seen how powerful connection can be.
This journey may have begun with a moment of devastation — but together, we walk forward in solidarity, in remembrance, and in hope for a fairer, safer future.
If you or someone you know needs our support, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here. We understand.
