The First 2,500 Signatures for Chantel’s Law Delivered to No. 10 Downing Street

On 23rd January 2025, Families Fighting for Justice proudly delivered the first 2,500 signatures in support of Chantel’s Law to No. 10 Downing Street. This moment marks a significant milestone in our campaign to address the gaps in the justice system that fail victims and their families.

Our founder, Jean Taylor, who is also the mother of Chantel Taylor — brutally murdered by Stephen Wynne — personally delivered the petition. It was a moment of hope and determination, as these signatures represent the voices of people across the UK calling for justice and reform.

What Chantel’s Law Stands For

Chantel’s Law seeks to:

  • Close the gaps in the justice system that leave victims and their families unsupported.
  • Strengthen victims’ rights, ensuring families affected by violent crime are treated with dignity and fairness.
  • Push for greater accountability and transparency in how cases involving victims are handled.

This law is named in honour of Chantel Taylor and the countless families who, like hers, have had to navigate a system that has often failed to protect and support them. Chantel’s story is a tragic reminder of why change is urgently needed, and we are committed to continuing this fight.
